Avril Lavigne fighting lyme disease
Updated | By MornéJK
Avril Lavigne insists she is "coming out on the other side" following her year-long battle with Lyme Disease.
The 'Complicated' hitmaker was left bedridden last year when she was struck down with the infection but insists she is slowly but surely getting better.
Taking to Facebook, she captioned a picture of her in the doctor's office: "Overcoming Lyme Disease. Feels good to have my Dr. smile and tell me how much progress I am making.
"I'm coming out on the other side batches!!! #Fighter #F**kLymeDisease (sic)"
Meanwhile, the 31-year-old singer recently insisted she's "doing a lot better" since she contracted the disease.
She said: "I'm about halfway through my treatment.
"I'm doing a lot better. Seeing a lot of progress ... I'm just really grateful to know that, like, I will make [a] 100 percent recovery ...
"I literally became bedridden last October. They would pull up their computer and be like, 'Chronic fatigue syndrome.' Or, 'Why don't you try to get out of bed, Avril, and just go play the piano?' It's like, 'Are you depressed?'"
Avril is also hoping her suffering will help those who are struggling with the disease, too.
Directly addressing the patients affected, she shared: "There is hope. Lyme disease does exist. And you can get better. I really just want to go out there and truly do what I love. So I'm so excited for life after this."
