Beyoncé pushes back 'mystery' announcement
Updated | By Entertainment Reporter
The legendary artist, Beyoncé, was set to make a big announcement this week but has postponed her plans in the wake of the Los Angeles wildfires.
Beyoncé's fans are calling her a class act after she decided to postpone her big announcement out of respect for the victims of the deadly wildfires in Los Angeles.
The 43-year-old first hinted about her new project on December 26, one day after she performed at the NFL's Christmas Gameday halftime show.
She shared a video of herself waving an American flag while sitting on a white horse. The date "1.14.25" (January 14, 2025) flashes across the screen.
Fans speculated that the 'Texas Hold 'Em' hitmaker would announce a new album. Some were also convinced she would be venturing into rock music after releasing her country-inspired 'Cowboy Carter' album.
One X user said, "The font is giving 80's rock ACT III IS UPON US."
Others predicted a new world tour announcement. However, Queen B gave nothing away. Fans now face a longer wait to find out what she has up her sleeve.
"The January 14th announcement will be postponed to a later date due to the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires around areas of Los Angeles. I continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss. We are so blessed to have brave first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protect the Los Angeles community," she said in a statement shared on Instagram.
The singer's BeyGOOD foundation has donated $2,5 million to support families who have lost their homes. Some of the money will also be used to support community organisations working on the ground.
"Class act… and thank you for donating Bey... it’s a mess out here @beyonce," comedian Loni Love commented.
Another Instagram user added, "I’m sad... but our good sis read the room!"
The Weeknd has also delayed the release of his new album, 'Hurry Up Tomorrow', which was set to debut on January 24.
"Out of respect and concern for the people of Los Angeles County, the Rose Bowl Show has been cancelled and the album date has been postponed to 01.31.25," he said in a statement.
Beyoncé did not share a new date for her big reveal.
