Bouwer Bosch talks "challenging" Tropika Island of Treasure journey
The ninth season of the hit TV show 'Tropika Island of Treasure' took to our screens this week and we are in store for an incredibly exciting next few weeks!
In episode one, celebrities Bouwer Bosch, Kay Sibiya, Simphiwe Ngema, Nadia Jaftha, Siphesihle Vazi, and Ntando Duma descended upon Curaçao for a few weeks of tough competition.

Located 64 kilometres off the coast of Venezuela and 12 degrees north of the Equator, the island of Curaçao represents a lively amalgam of different cultures. This island is the picture-perfect backdrop for the next few weeks while 'Tropika Island of Treasure' is on our screens.
Bosch says his time on the island was amazing. "It was one of the most challenging things I've ever done in my life but it was also one of the most enjoyable experiences," the local singer and actor says.
"The island was so interesting, it is a 20 hour flight from here and there are so many people there that understand Afrikaans, because it used to be a Dutch colony."
In the first episode of the show, Katlego Maboe (host), introduced the six smooth fans who were paired up with the celebrities to fight for their chance of winning the R1-million prize and the fame and fortune that goes along with it.
The celebrities
The celebrities and contestants did not meet before heading to the island and so their first encounter was upon arriving in Curaçao – during their very first challenge. This challenge saw the celebrities and contestants competing against each other in an obstacle course of epic proportions, where the contestants ultimately came out victorious!
This win meant that the contestants would have the power to choose which celebrity they wanted to be paired up with, and the pairings were as follows:

#TeamCoolRed - Nadia Jaftha + Trevor Lagerwey
Over the next few weeks, the teams will compete in various challenges with the goal of emerging victorious and winning that shared R1-million prize.
