Cameron van der Burgh launches fifth phase of Disney XD's Aim High
Updated | By Charis Apelgren
Disney XD’s Aim High gives kids across the country the chance to win a mentorship in a particular field to learn how to realise their true potential. Seeking inspiration from world class sportsmen and musicians, Disney XD’s Aim High gives kids everywhere the chance to do what they love and love what they do. Whatever the route, the important thing is to Aim High.
From 12 May through to 23 June 2014, Disney XD’s Aim High will be hitting the pool and will be offering fans the chance to win a once in a lifetime experience with the gold medallist, who is the current 100m breaststroke world-record holder and 2012 Olympic Champion. In addition, the winner will receive a year’s supply of Nestle Milo Cereal!
‘I was very honoured when I heard that I have been selected to be the next Aim High mentor, it’s a great campaign that offers a unique opportunity to young aspiring sportspeople,’ says Van Der Burgh. ‘Growing up I had mentors who inspired me and offered me opportunities which changed my life. I really hope that I can do the same for someone else.’
To enter*, fans simply need to visit http://www.disneyxd.co.za/aim-high or http://disneyafrica.mobi/AimHigh_competition.rbml from Monday 12 May through to Monday 23 June 2014 and answer a multiple choice question together with a motivation on why they should be selected for this incredible opportunity. The winner will then get to spend an unforgettable day in and out of the pool, learning the tricks of the trade direct from Cameron (which will be filmed and aired on Disney XD (DStv, Channel 304) later on in the year) as well as receive a year’s supply of Nestle Milo Cereal.
Aim High’s previous mentors include Bafana Bafana soccer star Siphiwe Tshabalala, singing sensation and winner of South Africa Idols 6, Elvis Blue, South African rugby star, Tendai ‘The Beast’ Mtawarira, and the world’s no. 1 fast-bowler, Protea cricket star Dale Steyn.
