Candace Owens has become a hot topic on social media after she attacked Beyoncé Knowles and her mother, Tina.

Over the weekend, Tina took to social media to defend her daughter after Candace claimed she was paid $10-million (about R180-million) to speak at a Kamala Harris rally in her hometown of Houston on October 25 by the American politician for her rally.

“Beyonce did not receive a penny for speaking at a Presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harrris’s Rally in Houston,” Knowles wrote on Instagram.

“In fact she actually paid for her own flights for her and her team, and total Glam. They are not only lying and disrespecting Beyonce’s name but they are trying to further discredit the power of our vice president! When does the lies and rumors stop? Of course you won’t see this in the news !!!!!” she wrote.

Following her comments, Candace said some people reached out to her.

“I was having a totally normal weekend, went to the farmers market with the kids, the toy store, and then someone texted me and said that Beyoncé’s mommy came for me on Instagram. I said, ‘What? Excuse me? Tina Knowles? What have I done to deserve this?’ This is so wrong,” Candace said on her podcast.

She went on to slam Beyoncé's art.

“Beyoncé hasn’t had a good album since Four… So Beyoncé and her mommy targeted me – this is my belief – because I am emblematic of something that frustrates them,” Owens said.

“It’s a changing economy in the world. What has always worked for them in the past is no longer interesting to the public. This is an economy where authenticity pays. Beyoncé does not remember what it means to be authentic anymore. She’s been playing a role of a queen for so long. She’s grown accustomed to visit the commonwealth every four years,” she added.

Candace said: “Beyoncé is used to black women bowing down to her."

She added that she doesn't respect Beyoncé's work.

"There’s nothing [Beyoncé does] that I respect,” she said.
