Enhle Mbali has announced a new charity initiative where she wants to alleviate the effects of abuse on women by giving them a chance to pursue their studies with a fully paid bursary.
Millions of women and girls are victims of abuse. This can have serious consequences.
Some people suffer developmental delay, behavioural issues, depression, anxiety, attachment, and post-traumatic stress.
Media personality and GBV activist, Enhle Mbali, says some women chose to stay in abusive relationships because of finances.

To play her role in liberating abused women, Enhle has started an initiative called, Enhle Cares Foundation, aimed at empowering victims of abuse by offering them an opportunity to further their studies without the financial burden of fees.
"65% of abused Woman go back to their abuser due to lack of financial support or and independence . The abuses knows this. We at @enhlecares_foundation_ are working towards bridging that gap ,slowly but surely," wrote Enhle on Instagram.
The foundation is giving away two bursaries to deserving women.
"Having just stepped out of Women's Month, in celebration of the women who stood up for all of us women in 1956, we still face our highest GBV statistics in South Africa. We at Enhle Cares have decided, instead of concentrating on the bad, let us help you.
"If you are a woman from an abused background and wants to do well for yourself, this is for you. We are giving away two bursaries to two women ,fully paid for, equipment paid for as well. All you need to do is tell us your story, where you would like to be and why you deserve this bursary," she said in a video posted on Instagram.
