Gal Gadot urges fans to see new 'Snow White' movie

Disney's new 'Snow White' film has been plagued by controversy, but Gal Gadot says it is a "great movie".

Rachel Zegler is ready to make her debut as 'Snow White' in Disney's latest live-action remake of the popular animated film.
The road to the big screen has not been without a few hiccups. Some fans are not happy that Zegler, who is of Colombian and Polish descent, is not, well, snow white.
The 23-year-old was also slammed for taking a swipe at the original film. In 2022, she told 'Extra' it was "extremely dated when it comes to the ideas of women being in roles of power and what a woman’s fit for in the world".
She's since doubled down on her criticism.
"The original cartoon came out in 1937, and very evidently so. There’s a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird. So we didn’t do that this time… We have a different approach to what I’m sure a lot of people will assume is a love story just because we cast a guy in the movie.”
Fans have been fuming ever since, with some vowing to boycott the film.
The backlash has reportedly resulted in Disney cutting back on the film's marketing, opting for slimmed-down premieres in the build-up to the movie's March 21 release date.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney "isn’t allowing regular red carpet press to attend" the film's upcoming premiere in Los Angeles so the cast won't have to worry about "answering questions on the spot".
However, Gal Gadot, who plays the Evil Queen in the musical fantasy, has urged people to go see the movie.
"Of course – it’s a great movie," she replied when TMZ chatted to her in LA.
