Cliff was reinstated to the judging panel earlier this year after a successful court battle with Mnet.
He as fired in January following s post on twitter that got him into hot water with the broadcaster.
"We are grateful for his contribution to the show over the last 11 seasons and we wish him well with his future endeavours," it continues.
Cliff also confirmed the news on his Facebook page but didn't want to reveal what his future plans were.
"It's time! After eleven seasons of Idols, it's time for me to say goodbye. What better way to bring this chapter to a close than a trip to New York and meeting American Idols judge Harry Connick Jr and being on his post-Idols show," he posted on Facebook.
