Hofmeyr speeding case resumes
Updated | By Staff Writer
Afrikaans singer Steve Hofmeyr will appear in the Bronkhorstspruit Magistrate's Court on Thursday on charges of reckless and negligent driving and exceeding the general speed limit.

During a previous appearance, he said he wanted to settle the case out of court.
Hofmeyr was arrested in Bronkhorstspruit on the night of December 19, and was released on bail of R500.
At the time, Gauteng traffic police spokeswoman Busaphi Nxumalo said Hofmeyr was caught driving at 169km/h in an 80km/h zone.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page a day after his arrest, Hofmeyr said it was irresponsible to speed.
"I concede this was irresponsible and dangerous."
He also complimented the police officers who dealt with him, describing them as "friendly, professional and thorough" and thanked those who were on duty.
