Jo Black: 'Lets leave the George Clooney comparisons in 2018'

The 'Skepe' hitmaker beat fellow male celebrities Brendan Peyper, Nico Panagio and Dirk van der Westzhuizen for the top spot in SARIE magazine's annual 'SA se mooiste Man' competition.

Jo's had to shave off his signature long beard before heading into for a major neck operation in October and immediately after sharing pictures of himself with a - way shorter - neatly-trimmed beard, Jacaranda FM's social media pages were flooded with messages, with many people saying that the 'Skepe' hitmaker looks exactly like American actor George Clooney.

And even though the singer is currently growing his beard back, many South Africans still think he looks like the American actor, some stating that this is why the voted for him in SARIE's 'SA se mooiste Man' competition.

Jo, who is quite shy about his new title, told Jacaranda FM in an exclusive interview, behind-the-scenes of Afrikaans Is Groot, that while the George Clooney comparisons are flattering, he much prefers just being Jo. "Why do you want to look like George Clooney, when you can be Jo Black," he teased.
