John Legend reveals how difficult his first years of marriage were

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen got married on 14 September in 2013.
Nine years after tying the knot, the singer has reflected on the early stages of his marriage.
In an interview with the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast, Legend revealed that he was not a great partner to Chrissy.
"I wasn't a great partner at the beginning of our relationship," he said.

Though he also revealed that he was still very fond of his wife.
"Though I was very into her and very excited to be with her," he said.
The root cause of him not being a great partner was because he was "selfish".
"I was more selfish then," he said.
He also admitted that age played a role in how he behaved.
"I was in my mid-20s, still not ready to fully be the committed partner I am now," he said.
In September, Legend took to Instagram to celebrate their anniversary.
"I married my Wonder Woman 9 years ago today. Happy Anniversary, my love. You never cease to amaze me," he wrote.
