Earlier this week it was announced that the SABC would stage a concert with 100 artists at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto as a "thank you" to the public broadcaster and its decision to play 90% on its radio stations.

At the same time one of the SABC radio stations announced that it postponed a concert also scheduled for this weekend, citing diary clashes as the reason.

The Joburg Live Loud concert, which drew 12 000 people last year, was postponed to allow Matthew Mole and MiCasa to join the line-up.

Meanwhile Afrikaans rapper, Jack Parow, scurried to get confirmation regarding his performance at the SABC Thank You concert.

His spokesperson, Louis Krouse said that he rushed into a meeting with his manager on Monday to get more information around his performance as part of the 100 artists that will perform at Orlando Stadium.

Clegg's management released a statement on Tuesday night saying that it has been brought to their attention in various publications that Johnny Clegg has been announced as playing at the Thank You SABC music concert.

"Johnny Clegg was not contracted to perform and will not be participating in this music concert on Saturday 10th September at Orlando stadium," the statement read.

They concluded by saying that any advertising stating that Johnny Clegg is performing at the concert is incorrect and completely misleading.

The SABC Thank You concert is hosted and produced by Phumelela Entertainment and aims to celebrate the diversity of South African music, artists and the SABC’s game changing decision to include 90% local music content, implemented earlier this year.
