Jozi FM CEO Mpho Mhlongo has spoken of his shock at the sudden death of popular radio personality and Generations actor, Mandla Hlatshwayo.
"I got a call at around 22:30 on Sunday night saying there was a shooting at a venue in Pimville, Soweto and when I arrived I found his motionless body laying outside," he says.
Mhlongo says Hlatshwayo stepped in when a group of people tried to rob a group women outside the pub.
"What Iearnt was that there was an attempted robbery and Mandla, being himself, intervened and tried to protect the group of women," he told Jacaranda FM News.
He says he only left the crime scene in the early hours of Monday morning after waiting to police to conclude their investigations at the crime scene.

"They shot him, took his shoes and ran away," he says.
Police are investigating a case of premeditated murder.
"We will bring the perpetrators to book," spokesperson Hitler Ngwenya says.
Meanwhile, Mohlongo says he will be visiting Hlatshwayo's family later on Monday to see how they are dealing with the trauma and to assist in any way possible.
"My head is not okay at the moment. I am still having to deal with this myself," Mohlongo says.
