South African legend Michelle Botes is starring in a proudly South African film 'Jewel' on Netflix which tells the story of the Sharpeville massacre.
'Jewel' on Netflix tells the story of one of South Africa's first and most violent demonstrations against apartheid, the Sharpeville massacre, now known as Human Rights Day.

The Sharpeville massacre happened in 1960, on 21 March, when black people were killed and wounded by police.
They demonstrated against the crime against humanity in the township of Sharpeville.

The legendary actress, Michelle Botes, known for her iconic role in the SABC3 soap 'Isidingo', as 'Cherel de Villiers le Roux Haines Holmes' is one of the main cast members in this proudly South African film.
Other cast members include Robert Whitehead, Lilian Dube, Desmond Dube, and Connie Chiume.
