Nyong'o is upset about Grazia Magazine's decision to photoshop and smooth out her locks on their November cover.

Nyong'o has since taken to social media to express her unhappiness about the decision.

She wrote on Facebook: "As I have made clear so often in the past with every fiber of my being, I embrace my natural heritage and despite having grown up thinking light skin and straight, silky hair were the standards of beauty, I now know that my dark skin and kinky, coily hair are beautiful too."

"Being featured on the cover of a magazine fulfills me as it is an opportunity to show other dark, kinky-haired people, and particularly our children, that they are beautiful just the way they are. I am disappointed that Grazia UK Invited me to be on their cover and then edited out and smoothed my hair to fit their notion of what beautiful hair looks like."

Nyong'o insists she was not consulted about the decision.

The magazine has not yet publicly responded to Nyong'o.

It's not the first time a magazine has been accused of editing a black woman's hair - and we're sure it won't be the last.

Singer/songwriter Solange Knowles called out London-based magazine, the Evening Standard, for doing the very same thing in October.

The magazine had also photoshopped her hair - cropping out Knowles' braided crown.
