Mariah Carey mourns the death of Quincy Jones

Mariah Carey has thanked Quincy Jones for offering her life-defining moments.

Mariah Carey is one of the celebrities whose life was greatly impacted by the legendary Quincy Jones. 

The singer took to Instagram to remember the life of the legend. 

She wrote about how Quincy impacted her life. 

"A legend, a titan, a mentor. You’ve given the world, and me, so many life defining moments that will be forever cherished. Rest in Power, sir Quincy Jones. @quincyjones," she wrote.

Quincy died on Sunday night at his home in the Bel Air section of Los Angeles, surrounded by his family.

He produced the likes of Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, and many others. 

Quincy had a career that spanned more than 60 years. 

Some of his accolades include: 

  • Receiving the Motion Picture Academy’s Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award in 1995.
  • An honorary Oscar in 2024. 
  • Grammy Legend Award in 1991.
  •  28 GRAMMYs. 

Some of the local stars who have paid tribute to Quincy include Thembinkosi “TK” Nciza, DJ Sbu, and Arthur Mafokate. 

International artists who have taken to social media to mourn Quincy's death include Oprah Winfrey, Elton John, and Barack Obama.
