Oasis reunion announced as Gallagher brothers reunite

The Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, have announced that they will be heading back to the stage with Oasis, the British band known for hits like 'Wonderwall', 'Don't Look Back in Anger', and 'Champagne Supernova'.

Fourteen Oasis shows have been announced for next year in the UK.

The brothers had been estranged after a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris in 2009, devastating fans worldwide. The band began in 1991 and rose to fame with acclaimed albums such as its 1995 classic, '(What's the Story) Morning Glory'.

Speculation of a reunion between the two brothers started on Sunday after a short video clip displaying the font and style of the original Oasis logo appeared on the official band page, as well as on both brothers’ social media accounts. 

Liam Gallagher further fuelled the rumours by reposting news articles about the rumours. 

Fans of the band have pleaded for their reunion since their split in 2009.

The 14 UK shows scheduled for 2025 will be spread around the country. Wembley Stadium in London has been booked out for 10 shows next summer, setting the new gig record and overtaking Taylor Swift's eight-gig record.
