Miss South Africa Zozibini Tunzi revealed the national dress that she will be wearing at the Miss Universe pageant in Atlanta in December.
Tunzi revealed the ‘Wave of Love' national costume, designed by Lloyd Kandlin of The Costume Department, in Sandton on Friday.
As part of the #HeForShe campaign and her ongoing work as an activist against gender-based violence, Tunzi asked South African men to pledge their support by writing love letters to the women of South Africa.
She has incorporated the letters into her national costume.
Tunzi will also wear the same dress Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters wore when she competed in Miss Universe 2017.
The Miss Universe contestants will not be taking a national gift this year, but instead a soft toy which will be given to charity.
Tunzi will be taking a doll dressed in traditional Xhosa attire, designed by 2010 Miss South Africa Bokang Montjane.
Tunzi says she entered the beauty pageant because she believed she had a voice and it needed to be heard.
