Reeva Steenkamp’s mom to honour her late husband
Reeva Steenkamp's mom, June, is celebrating her birthday without her husband Barry, who sadly passed away on 15 September.
Reeva Steenkamp's mother is still mourning the death of her husband, Barry.
The mother of the late model says she will be spending her birthday honouring her late husband.
The news was shared by the Reeva Steenkamp Foundation, which June launched in 2015.
"Today is June’s Birthday. We wish you a Happy Birthday June, even though you don’t want to celebrate at all," read the statement.

She will instead be using the day to commemorate her husband Barry.
"June rather wants to commemorate Barry, who was laid to rest over the weekend in accordance with his wishes in a private, intimate ceremony with only his family and a few of his closest friends present," read the statement.
"We honoured his request to be afforded the privacy in death which he was denied and craved so much the past 10 years."
June has thanked all those who have supported her through her grieving.
"Thank you for the outpouring of love and the many messages of condolences. A special word of thanks from June for all the support."
Barry died in his sleep on Friday, September 15, at the age of 80.

June lost her daughter, Reeva, on 14 February in 2013.
Former Paralympic and Olympic star Oscar Pistorius was found guilty of killing the model and was given a 13-year jail sentence in 2017.
