Rod Stewart was knighted by Prince William at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday.
The 71-year-old singer, now known as Sir Roderick, was honoured with the title during a ceremony which was attended by his wife Penny Lancaster and his sons.
"We talked about music and he said, 'It's great that you're still going,' and I said, 'I have to - I've got eight children!' he said after the ceremony.
According to reports, Rod said that he couldn't have asked for anything more adding that he promised the Queen that he will wear the title well.
