SA pays tribute to Mandoza
Updated | By MornéJK
South Africans have paid tribute to Kwaito star, Mduduzi Edmund Tshabalala - better known as Mandoza - who died at the age of 38.
Mandoza died after being rushed to hospital yesterday afternoon following his two year battle with brain cancer.
He was born in Zola, Soweto, on the 19th of January 1978 and became a household name following his hit song, Nkalakatha.
Mandoza never knew his father with his mother saying he was murdered the same year Mandoza was born.
When he was sixteen years old, Mandoza was charged with car theft and after spending a year and a half behind bars in Diepkloof prison he turned to music to inspire, especially, the youth.
In 2000 he did just that and became a star with his smash-hit, Nkalakatha.

Mandoza sang in several languages, including English, Afrikaans, Zulu, and Xhosa - which made him a hit with a wide South African audience.
Social media was abuzz with tributes to Mandoza, shortly after the news broke.
Even though death is a part of life,it's something we can never get used to or fathom.💔 #MandozaTribute #RIPMandoza
