Shona Ferguson wins International award for 'Kings of Jo'Burg'

Congratulations are in order for 'Kings of Jo'Burg' star, the late Shona Ferguson, who has won an award at the Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards.
Shona Ferguson is making an impact beyond the grave.
The multi-talented star, who passed away on July 30, has just scooped his first international award.
Shona was recognised for his role on 'Kings of Jo'Burg', which was produced by his own production company.
He won the Best Lead in a TV Series (Africa) at the HAPAs.

Taking to Instagram, his wife, Connie Ferguson, shared the great news and wrote about how proud she is of her husband.
"I am beyond elated for this win! Your passion, your drive, your creative genius and your undeniable talent went unrecognised for the longest time, but that never discouraged nor deterred you from your plans and vision for Ferguson Films. To say I’m proud of my husband would be the biggest understatement! " she wrote on Instagram.
The actress said her husband was a hard worker.
"This guy! This guy! Not only was he the biggest dreamer but also the hardest worker in the room! Boss extraordinaire! With the brightest smile and heartiest laughter!
"Sorely missed but fondly remembered by all! Congratulations Hubby! We receive this in your honor!
"May the memory of you never fade in people’s minds and hearts! You are loved by many, and remembered for how you touched people’s lives and the difference you made to them! You continue to inspire beyond the grave! You truly are one of a kind! Chosen to defy death!" she wrote.

Shona's award is not the only one that 'Kings of Jo'Burg' won.
It also won the ‘Outstanding Drama Series in Africa’ award and Cindy Mahlangu, who played Phumzi on the series, won the ‘Best Supporting Actress'.
The awards were received by the co-executive producer of the series, Samad Davis.

Kings of Jo'Burg was released on Netflix in 2020.
It features stars such as Shona Ferguson, Zolisa Xaluva, Tsholofelo Matshaba, Thembi Seete, and Connie Ferguson.
