"Happy 18th birthday!" - Victor Matfield is a proud girl dad...
South African rugby legend Victor Matfield pulled out all the stops to make sure his daughter had the best birthday ever.
The former Springbok captain celebrated Jaime Matfield's 18th birthday by buying her a car.
"Happy 18th birthday!" he wrote on Instagram this week.
Victor included several pictures from the moment they picked up the car. His two younger daughters, Giselle and Tasmin, also tagged along for the moment.
One picture shows Jaime sitting in the driver's seat of her new car.
"Congrats. Watch out for the cameras," former Proteas star Herschelle Gibbs teased.
Jaime is the eldest daughter of Victor and his wife Monja Matfield. The couple welcomed her into the world on 1 January 2006.
"We were exhilarated by her being born on New Year's Day. We expected her a little later. God really blessed us with her birth," News24 quoted him as saying at the time.
Victor's family has been his main priority since retiring from professional rugby. He often posts pictures of himself enjoying quality time with his girls.
The rugby star opened up about his life as a girl dad during an interview on the SA Rugby Podcast in 2020.
"I must say I enjoy my girls. It's great. When me and Monja fight they are always on my side," he joked.
"They are very involved in sports as well so I get involved with their training."
Victor revealed that he has tea parties with his youngest daughter Tasmin, whose nickname is Tazzy, and his girls sometimes do his hair!
