The Voice SA: Let the battle rounds begin
Updated | By MornéJK
The first battle round of the Voice SA got off to a dramatic start with contestants giving it their all to advance to the next phase of the competition.
The brutal battle rounds put coaches Bobby van Jaarsveld, Kahn Morbee, Lira and Karen Zoid under immense pressure as they pair their teams off to sing against each other.
In a first for The Voice South Africa, coach Kahn Morbee surprised with a pre-emptives 'steal' before Lira had to pick between the powerful voices of Jacqueline Tolken and Al Peterson.
Karen Zoid was in a similar predicament when powerhouse singers Armand Joubert and Samantha Leonard set the stage alight with The Darkness's "I Believe In A Thing Called Love."
