The Voice SA: PJ Pretorius voted off
Updated | By MornéJK
PJ Pretorius from #TeamKaren is the latest contestant to leave the competition after receiving the least amount of votes.
With only two weeks left before the grand finale, the Top 5 were announced on Sunday night with more than a million votes cast for South Africa's favourite vocalists.
Caroline Brussow, Craig Lucas, Fatman, Josh Ansley and Samantha Leonard are all through to next Sunday's semi-finals.
PJ's coach Karen Zoid consoled him by saying "never stop dreaming" after he was told that he would have to pack his bags.
"He must go out there and make a name for himself. I've got his back, always," Karen said.
In his original blind audition, the singer from Secunda received three chair turns from the coaches for his rendition of Coldplay's "Yellow". He then beat Durban's Chico Muya in the battle rounds with his version of Bruce Springsteen's "Secret Garden".
In the knock-outs, he beat out Port Elizabeth's Emma Ellis with an acoustic version of the Pink anthem "Perfect".
He made it through to the Top 8 with Shania Twain's "You're Still The One" in the second round of the live shows, but his Top 7 performance of the Temper Trap hit "Sweet Disposition" landed him in trouble with the voters.
