The Weeknd is finally ready to release the last installment of his 'After Hours/Dawn FM' trilogy.

After talking about his upcoming album for months, the singer has teased music from his latest offering.

Taking to Instagram, he quoted German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche: “When you gaze long enough into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you."

The post shows a cinematic trailer of a child looking to outrun a dark world.

In the video, external dark forces attempt to capture the kid, but he manages to escape, leading him to a place that looks heavenly.

Some of his fans said the video shows The Weeknd 'healing the inner child'.

"I like the story it seems to tell, this young abel trying to reach what I'm guessing is heaven, and all his past other selves/weeknds trying to hold him back, cause really the weeknd does not deserve heaven from the other albums and story told, but Abel does,"  wrote one user.

Another user wrote: "We’re all healing our inner child this album."

In the video, The Weeknd can be heard singing: “I’m falling at the speed of light/ I’m staring at your shrinking face, don’t cry."

The title of the single is reportedly called, 'The Abyss'.

The singer, whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, has previously revealed that he is working on his last album under the name The Weeknd.

He told W Magazine that he is "going through a cathartic path right now".

The 'Earned It' hitmaker said going forward he might use his birth name.

“It’s getting to a place and a time where I’m getting ready to close the Weeknd chapter. I’ll still make music, maybe as Abel, maybe as The Weeknd. But I still want to kill The Weeknd. And I will. Eventually. I’m definitely trying to shed that skin and be reborn.”

“The album I’m working on now is probably my last hurrah as The Weeknd,” he added.

“This is something that I have to do. As The Weeknd, I’ve said everything I can say," said the multi award-winning singer.
