Progress in exam leak probe
Updated | By Maidi Monareng
The Department of Basic Education is confident that a report on the Maths Paper 2 exam leak will be finalised within the next two days.
The paper was found in possession of learners in Giyani in Limpopo before they wrote the paper on Monday.
The Department, together with law enforcement, are conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the leak. Spokesperson Elijah Mhlanga says they are pleased with the information received so far.
"We are going around this in a careful and sensitive manner, but in that very process we are obtaining some very useful information," says Mhlanga
Mhlanga says invigilators noticed suspicious behaviour from pupils, which led them to uncovering the exam leak.
Last week Limpopo MEC of education Ishmael Kgetjepe was confident that there would be no leaks this year, stating that they had tightened security around the handling of question papers.
