Another man burnt to death at Stjwetla
Johannesburg police are investigating a case of murder after another man was burnt to death at Stjwetla informal settlement in Alexandra on Wednesday evening.
It is alleged that community members accused the man of committing a series of crimes in the area.
The latest incident comes days after four suspects were killed in a similar incident.
The men were burnt to death by an angry mob on Tuesday night.
Residents accused the suspects of carrying dangerous weapons and committing armed robberies.
This year alone, more than a dozen people have been shot in the troubled northern Johannesburg neighbourhood.
“The police urge the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands as that is also a criminal offence, but they should rather work together with the police in the fight against crime,” said police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi.
No arrests have been made in either one of the incidents.
