Beyond the Spotlight: Amy Kleinhans
Updated | By Gerda de Sousa
Anyone who ever thought of Amy Kleinhans as just another beauty queen, should eat serious humble pie.

Crowned in 1992 as South Africa's first non-white Miss South Africa, Amy quickly became the darling of young girls across the country.
Her crown broke the glass ceiling to a world of endless possibilities for anyone who dares to dream.
For Amy, that was just the beginning.
And don't mistake her for someone who would have continued a career in the world she feld comfortable.
In her own words, she learnt at the age of 11 - when she got her first job - that if you want something, it's up to you to make it happen.
Today, she sits on the boards of several global companies.
More than everything, Amy is led by her passion for education. That was the driving force behind her establishing Dial-A-Teacher in 1998.
A dynamic business woman, a busy mother of four, wife to an entrepreneur - that's not where it stops.
Amy is preparing for another very important role - she is becoming a grandmother!
Looking at her and listening to her words of inspiration, one gets the feeling that Amy Kleinhans will push the bar even higher for the new generation in her family.
