Bloem man nabbed with 14 000 SASSA cards

A 34-year-old man is expected to appear in court after found with possession of South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) cards in Bloemfontein.
The suspect was arrested on Friday after he tried to flee from the police during a sting operation.
Free State police spokesperson Thandi Mbambo says the suspect dropped a sports bag while trying to flee from the police, but was nevertheless arrested.
Mlambo added that two boxes with SASSA Post Bank cards were found in the bag.
She confirms preliminary investigations revealed that the cards are linked to a business robbery where four unknown suspects stole seven boxes containing 14 000 SASSA Post Bank Cards at a Post Office in Bainsvlei, and fled the scene in a car.
The 34-year-old is expected to appear in court soon with charges of possession of stolen property.
