Members of the Economic Freedom Front (EFF) are wrapping up their night vigil in Polokwane, in preparation of the appearance of Julius Malema and two co-accused at the Polokwane High Court. Malema and his co accused will be facing charges of corruption and racketeering.
Floyd Shivambu, deputy leader of the EFF says the charges against Malema and fellow accused are nothing more than a smear campaign against their leader. Shivambu further claims that the the ANC held a meeting on how best to neutralise Malema.

Public protector Thuli Madonsela will be briefing the media today,in an aim to clear up distortions of her Nkandla report. The weekend saw several reports dealing with Madonsela's report on President Jacob Zuma's Nkandla home. The Sunday Times reported on letters written between the President and Mandonsela. Maryke Vermaak has more.
54 police members have been killed so far this year. Last week was a particularly bad week for the men and women in blue, with a total of five members killed in less than a week. Police brigadier, Vish Naidoo says in the latest incident, a Mpumalanga policeman was stabbed in the neck on Saturday night.
The Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (Amcu) is not happy with an increase offer of up to 17% from the Chamber of Mines members in gold mines; their members are insisting on a minimum wage of R12 500. This is the word from AMCU boss, Joseph Mathunjwa who says any other reports on their response to last week's final offer, are untrue.
