Buccleuch, Waterfall power ‘restored by 2pm’ – Eskom
Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
Embattled power utility Eskom says they are working around the clock to restore power outages caused by damaged electricity infrastructure.
Residents of Buccleuch and Waterfall have been without power for the past five days.
The utility says the outages were caused by network faults, theft and the vandalism of Eskom's electricity infrastructure.
Spokesperson Amanda Qithi says technicians have been on site since the outage.
“We are putting controls in place to enhance the existing measures to try and eliminate frequent supply interruptions in these areas not only to guard against network faults but also against theft and vandalism which are rife in these areas.
“We estimate that supply will be restored at 14:00 this afternoon and apologise to all affected customers for the inconvenience this outage has caused.”
