Metrorail spokesperson Lillian Mofokeng says trains from Vereeniging to Germiston will be rerouted via the India station.
"We have been trying to repair all the wires at Webber station which means that we had to close the section between Elsburg and India Stations for us to be able to repair all those overhead lines of power for us to be able to move the trains."
Mofokeng says technicians are working around the clock to replace the cables.
