Duo nabbed for manufacturing fake car licences
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Two people have been arrested for allegedly printing fake vehicle license discs, after a raid at an internet cafe.
The Road Traffic Management Corporation's Simon Zwane says the pair were nabbed in Tshwane.
The suspects are 27 and 28 years old.
Zwane says members of the Road Traffic Management's anti-corruption unit, the police's organised crime unit and Gauteng Traffic's compliance unit raided the cafe after obtaining information that it operated as a centre for the printing of fake vehicle licences.
"Four computers were confiscated during the raid, including a number of vehicle registration face value documents."
Zwane says the suspects are being held at the Pretoria Central Police Station.
It is understood that the suspects include the internet cafe manager and a client, he says.
They are expected to appear in the local magistrate's court on charges of fraud on Monday.
