The party's rally, which they have dubbed "the festival of the poor" will be held at the People’s Park in eThekwini.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) have slaughtered four cows ahead of their own 8 January rally on Saturday to thank the residents of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) for their support.
The party's first rally of the year comes on the same day that the ANC historically celebrates its formation with the governing party turning 110 this year.

The EFF shared pictures and videos of the slaughtering on social media, saying "We are Africans and we are thanking our people the African way!"
"The continued faith the people of KZN place in the Economic Emancipation Movement is overwhelming. On the 8th of January, we thank them with these gifts," they said.
