"We must improve women's representation in decision-making structures like national parliaments, but also in company boards and in their management teams as well.
"Equal representation of women in all structures is not a favour to women. It is a fundamental matter of justice and redress.
"The world's women and girls deserve action from all of us and not just promises," Ramaphosa said.
He said the African Union (AU) has policies which will ensure the increased participation of women in the economy.
“By unleashing the economic potential of women, we are unleashing the potential of our economies to grow and benefit all.”
