eThekwini council set to elect new mayor

eThekwini council members will gather under one roof again to finish what they started this week.
Monday's inaugural council meeting closed prematurely after a power outage and disruptions when some ANC supporters stormed the venue at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Newly-elected speaker, Thabani Nyawose will preside over the sitting this afternoon. That's when multiple rounds of voting will get underway for the next mayor, deputy mayor and council chief whip.
The ANC's provincial spokesperson Nhlakanipho Ntombela says they're hoping to bag the mayor's seat.
