Firearms, explosives found in Mpumalanga safe house

The Hawks in Mpumalanga have recovered several firearms and rounds of ammunition in a house in Phola in the Emalahleni Local Municipality area on Friday.
The discovery follows a tip off by community members and forms part of the investigation into a series of robberies that took place around Hazyview.
Hawks spokesperson Dineo Sekgotodi says several elite crime-fighting units were involved in the raid of the premises.
"A multi-disciplinary team consisting of Nelspruit Serious Organised Crime Investigation, Middelburg Serious Organised Crime, NPVC Head Office , Crime Intelligence, National Intervention Unit, Nelspruit LCRC and Nelspruit Bomb Disposal unit went to the house. The house was searched, but no one was found in the house.
"Further investigation led to the recovery of several firearms hidden in the ceiling of the house.”
She says the weapons discovered, include: 4× AK 47 rifles ,15 × AK 47 magazines, 345 rounds of Ammunition ,28 Scino 100 blasting cartridges ,I × unipack blasting cartridge ,3 roles ofcortex,7x improvised explosive devices.(Ready to be used in CIT Robbery), 1× battery and six bullet proof vests.
