Four security officers have been injured during a cash-in-transit heist on the N4 in Pretoria.
A gang of armed suspects pounced on the cash-in-transit vehicle near Simon Vermooten on Wednesday morning.
There were no fatalities reported, says Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen.
"Multiple security vehicles lay strewn across the roadway with the cash van having been blown up by suspects. The four security officers sustained moderate injuries and were treated and stabilised on scene before being taken to a nearby hospital for further care.”
Police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says a manhunt has been launched for the suspects.
"Suspects allegedly robbed the security guards of their three firearms, a rifle and two pistols before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.”
