Four killed in crash on N4 in Mpumalanga

Four people, including a 2-year-old child, have been killed in a collision involving four vehicles on the N4 toll near Emalahleni in Mpumalanga.
Wednesday evening’s crash involved two cars and two light delivery vehicles.
"It is believed that one of the sedans lost control, veered off its lane and into the oncoming traffic, before crashing into one of the vehicles. This resulted in a secondary crash that involved three other vehicles," says provincial community safety spokesperson Moeti Mmusi.
Mmusi says all the deceased were travelling in the two cars, while the drivers of the light delivery vehicles escaped with moderate injuries.
"The injured were first attended to at the scene before being rushed to the nearby hospital in Emalahleni. The probe into the crash is already underway.”
The province’s MEC for Community Safety Security and Liaison Vusi Shongwe has called on motorists to be more cautious on the road.
"As we approach the Easter holidays, let us all be mindful of our actions on the road. We must respect the rules at all times, pay attention when behind the steering wheel in order to save lives”.
