Four perish in head-on collision in Mpumalanga

At least four people were killed in a car crash on the R23 between Balfour and Greylingstad in Mpumalanga on Monday.

The head-on collision between a sedan and a bakkie happened, leaving one person injured.
The deceased are both drivers and two passengers - all occupants were males.
Mpumalanga Transport Department spokesperson Moeti Mmusi said the cause of the accident is under investigation.
"One passenger in a bakkie was slightly injured and received medical treatment at Suikerbosrand Life Care Hospital in Heidelberg,” said Mmusi.
"The sedan which was involved in the collision was being towed at the time of the crash. The other sedan which was towing the crashed sedan was not damaged and its driver was also not harmed.”
"The circumstances surrounding the crash remain sketchy at this point. However, the probe has already begun," he added.
