Fuel prices expected to go up in June
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Fuel prices are expected to increase significantly next month.
The Automobile Association (AA) expects petrol to go up by 52 cents a litre and diesel by up to 78 cents a litre.
AA spokesperson Layton Beard said this was due to stronger international oil prices while the Rand has also remained weak.
"With South Africa's weak economy our concern is that, even if oil prices moderate, further declines in the Rand will mask the benefit. It is possible that fuel prices will test new highs in the coming months, placing yet more stress on South African consumers," Beard said.
The adjustments are expected to be announced on Friday.
