Gauteng told to urgently reconcile Covid-19 data

Health Minister Zweli Mkhize says the latest Covid-19 recovery rate in Gauteng was excluded from the daily report due to failure by officials in the province to reconcile its data.

"As National Department of Health, we have identified that there is a need to reconcile data in Gauteng Province. 

 

"We have brought this to the attention of the Province and they have indicated that they are in the process of harmonizing the data,” says Mkhize.

 

Mkhize reported that as of Wednesday evening, the total number of new cases across South Africa jumped by another 3 250.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases now stands at 775 502.

 

The total number of deaths has increased to 21 201 after another 115 new related fatalities were reported.

 

The Eastern Cape remains to report the most amount of deaths, with another 51 people in the province succumbing to the infection.
