German man arrested at OR Tambo for allegedly trafficking women

A German man faces charges of trafficking and fraud after he was arrested at OR Tambo International Airport along with two Madagascan women, who he allegedly attempted to take to Croatia.
Joachim Will appeared in the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on Friday and is expected back in court for a bail hearing on the 10th of May.
The 56-year-old was nabbed by a joint police team led by the West Rand Hawks' Serious Organised Crime team, working with Interpol, Crime Intelligence, and Gauteng's Provincial Border Policing.
Hawks’ spokesperson Colonel Philani Nkwalase said Border Management Authorities apprehended the two women, aged 32 and 29, after it was revealed that they were in possession of fraudulent Italian passports.
“Further investigations by the Hawks uncovered that Mr. Joachim Will, who was accompanying them, had recruited the women through a dating site in Madagascar."
Nkwalase said the accused allegedly lured the duo, promising them employment in Croatia with a lucrative monthly salary.
"[Will] facilitated their travel to South Africa, where they met and reportedly provided them with fraudulent Italian passports for their travel from South Africa to Croatia."
"In light of these developments, other role players were activated to ensure that the victims are transferred to a place of safety” said Nkwalase.READ MORE
