Hammerskraal protest leaves one person injured
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
Taxi drivers have barricaded the R101 in Hammerskraal with burning tires due to a protest.

Police spokesperson, Issac Mahamba, says it is unclear at this stage the motive behind the protest.
Mahamba says earlier taxi drivers tried to close the R101 and Hammans Street intersection using their mini-buses, but they have since been removed.
He says one person has been assaulted, with slight injuries but no arrests have been made.
Mahamba says they also off-loaded commuters from buses driving in that direction.
He adds that people driving towards the R101 should remain vigilant.
Tshwane Metro police are keeping an eye on the protest and have advised motorists to use alternative roads.
