‘I think vaccine rollout will be flawless' - Ramaphosa

President Cyril Ramaphosa became one of the first South Africans to receive a Covid-19 vaccine in Khayelitsha on Wednesday afternoon.
The first 80 000 vials of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine arrived at OR Tambo International Airport on Tuesday evening.
The president and Health Minister Zweli Mkhize joined frontline healthcare workers at Khayelitsha Hospital for their vaccination.

The president told journalists outside the hospital that he was afraid at first of the vaccine needle.
"But it happened so quickly so easily, it was just a prick on my flesh I didn't feel a thing," said Ramaphosa.
The president described the rollout of the vaccine as a milestone for the country as it battles the virus.
"I think it is going to be flawless, I think it is going to effectively and as we get more and more of these vaccines as the minister brings them in - I think we will be able to vaccinate up the 40 000 million South Africans as we should.”
Ramaphosa urged all the doomsayers to have hope in the healthcare system and stop being negative.
