Grade 7 and 12 pupils returned to the classroom on Monday after a lengthy closure due to the Covid-19 lockdown.

Lesufi said he is satisfied with the progress made by schools across the province.

At a walkaround in Pohopedi Primary School in Poortjie, Lesufi said Maimane might be bored and needs something to do.

"If he's bored and needs excitement then I'll be there.

"Remember he's no longer a leader of a political party so he has a lot of time on his hands.”

He added that the department has nothing to hide.

"He must choose that school we will go there. There's nothing to hide, if there are problems then we will meet them.

"He'll assist us to know where there is a problem, but I do not have any problem.

"Mmusi Maimane, Thursday ka4 o clock are kopane (let's meet).
