The case against three Zimbabwean nationals who were arrested for the murder of an elderly German tourist was postponed again on Monday.
The accused, Jan Thabonga Moshabi, Abstein Madzvimbo, and Thomas Moyo, appeared before the Northam Magistrate’s Court on charges of murder and contravening the Immigration Act.
The 74-year-old Herman Westphal was killed on 24 February, a day after arriving in Lephalale from Botswana.
He was killed allegedly after offering one of the accused a lift.
"The suspect informed his accomplices to join them to his homestead, where upon arrival, they assaulted the deceased and also took his money and other valuables items. The accused later dumped him in the bushes," said a spokesperson for the NPA in Limpopo, Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi.
The case was postponed to 13 March for a formal bail application.
