Man fighting for life after KZN N2 smash
Updated | By ANA
A man, believed to be in his 30s, is in a critical condition and fighting for his life after a collision between two cars on the N2 north-bound near Queen Nandi Drive on Sunday afternoon, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.

Crisis Medical spokesman Kyle van Reenen said paramedics arrived on the scene to find the man in a critical condition, having suffered traumatic brain injuries.
“A request for back up from the Crisis Medical medical officer was quickly made through our emergency contact centre. Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilise the man before he was placed on to a mechanical ventilator to assist him in breathing,” he said in a statement.
Once stabilised, he was rapidly transported by ambulance to nearby Umhlanga Hospital for the immediate specialist care he required. He remained in a critical, but stable condition on handover at hospital.
Traffic was severely affected as the roadway remained closed to traffic while emergency services worked to clear the scene. The cause of the collision was unclear, but the SA Police Service were on scene and would investigate further, Van Reenen said.
