Updated | By Cliff Shiko
Deputy President Paul Mashatile has vowed to ensure a continuous provision of water to communities affected by erratic supply.

Mashatile, who visited eThekwini on Friday, said he is satisfied with the reports he has received so far from the government’s water task team.
The group was established to tackle supply challenges in the country.
The task team is expected to tour all provinces to ascertain the degree of supply constraints.
“The task team is going to look at what the problem is and what we should do in the short and long term,” said Mashatile.
‘Long-term, a lot of infrastructure needs to be repaired. Short-term, we need to make sure that wherever there may be challenges, we fix them so that there is a continuous supply of water.
“As we plan for the future, putting new pipes, but still we want to make that people continue to have water.”
